Team EVR joined hundreds of participants at Manchester’s Derryfield Park on Saturday, June 3 for the annual New Hampshire Heart & Stroke Walk. The American Heart Association’s Heart & Stroke Walks are held throughout the country to help to raise money and bring awareness to heart disease and stroke.

Thanks to Catholic Medical Center for being the “Life is Why” sponsor of the event and CMC President and CEO Joseph Pepe for serving as event chair.

The walks are aimed at encouraging people to adopt a heathier and physically active lifestyle to reduce the chance of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States, with stroke being number five.

The New Hampshire Heart & Stroke Walk raised more than $170,000. Team EVR, which included nine walkers, raised $3,685, the fourth highest total among the 61 teams participating.

It was great day to support a great cause.
